I Heart You!

"She is expected to be sunny
and very funny,
but she is a person you see
with feelings
just like you and me.

She goes around with a pretending smile
for only a little while.
Her heart is broken
and the world is awoken
by all the pain and sin.

Yet she loves you
can't you see
open your eyes
because she is me."

Bubbles and Hearts!

It was one of those days where I just wanted to crawl back into bed and be left alone with my dreams. Nothing bad happened; I did not want to get out of bed that morning because it seemed like my thoughts over powered me. I was lost and feeling very unloved by every person I came into contact with.

I decided to do my chore: the dishes. I have always had a dislike for the chore that I was given, but it has always been the way that God talks to me. One time it was by seeing a sunset, but this time it was different-much different. I almost cried when I saw the shape of a heart in the middle of the bubbles in the sink. I ran to go get my phone with tears streaming down my face. I was amazed that God would talk to me through this way. I am so loved. God loves me. I have friends and family that love me. It is pretty breath taking to see such a wonderful sight.

Paint Your Own Future With Him!

"When I was younger, I use to think the world was my canvas.
I could paint whatever I wanted.
When I got older, I thought I knew everything about the world.
I would color inside the lines.
And now I am lost.
Paint has splattered all over the canvas."

The Wise Ant

So I wanted to blog about what I read from my devotional this morning. I pray that it will inspire you and touch your heart like it touched mine. This devotional was taken from a book called "Our Daily Bread", and this particular devotion is written by Jennifer Benson Schuldt.

"Every year I do something special to celebrate the arrival of spring- I buy ant traps. Those little invaders continually march into our kitchen in search of any crumb left on the floor. They aren't picky; a shard of potato chip, a grain of rice, or even a speck of cheese will do.

Although ants may be a nuisance, Solomon praised them for their steadfeast work ethic ( Proverbs 6:6-11). He pointed out that ants are self-directed. They have 'no captain, overseer, or ruler' (v.7), yet they are very productive. The ants also keep busy even when it's not immediately necessary, providing supplies in the summer and gathering food in the harvest (v.8). By the time winter arrives, they're are worried about what they will eat. Little by little, these hard workers have saved up enough to substain themselves.
We can learn from the ant. When God gives us times of plenty, we can prepare for times when resources may be low. God is the provider of all that we have, including our ability to work. We are to work diligently, be wise stewards of what He has provided, and then rest in the promise of His care (Matthew 6:25-34).

Let's remember Solomon's advice: 'Go to the ant...consider her ways and be wise'" (Proverbs 6:6).

Jennifer Benson Schuldt is absolutely right. Remember that being a child of God means we rest in the peace of today and look forward for tomorrow being diligent with our time and resources.

Trust While Waiting!

In honor of Dr. Seuss birthday on March 2nd, 2012, I am dedicating this blog to him. He changed the world with his goofy rhythms and nonsense poems.  I did a project on this poem last year on behalf of my English 1B- Critical thinking class. I think a lot of people can relate to this poem. We all are waiting for something. At the time that I did this project, I chose this poem because it best described what I was going through. I waiting for a phone call from my doctor to confirm or deny if I had stomach cancer. Now when I look back at it, I am joyful that while waiting for the life changing news, I put all my trust in God. I do not have stomach cancer, and I am so glad that I waited patiently.

Waiting may be a scary time for you, but just remember that there is a Loving Father who will hold your hand through it all.

"Waiting for a train to go
or a bus to come, or a plane to go
or the mail to come, or the rain to go
or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow
or waiting around for a Yes or a No
or waiting for their hair to grow.
Everyone is just waiting.

Waiting for the fish to bite
or waiting for wind to fly a kite
or waiting around for Friday night
or waiting, perhaps, for their uncle Jake
or a pot to boil, or a Better Break
or a string of pearls, or a pair of pants
or a wig with curls, or Another Chance.
Everyone is just waiting."

I miss you, Dr. Seuss!
Happy Birthday!
May many kids all over the world learn how to read because of your inspiration.
